FAQ
-
Do I/my child need a ski pass?
Yes, all course participants need a ski pass. Even children under the age of 6, for whom the ski pass is free, receive a ski pass.
All information about prices at Schlick 2000.
-
Is equipment included in the course price?
No, the Stubai Ski School does not have its own ski rental service. However, when booking online, you can book equipment at the same time with our partner HP Sports.
-
Where are the meeting points?
The meeting points for all courses are at the Froneben middle station in the Schlick 2000 ski area. No access by car, only by ski lift!
Take the gondola up one station, get off, turn right across the slope to our office or, for children's courses, go directly to the Kinderland in front of you.
Children's courses: For placement on the first day at 9:30 a.m. in the Kid's Area.
Private courses: directly at the office at the middle station, shortly before the start of lessons.
Courses for adults: at approximately 9:40 a.m. in front of the office.
Snowboard courses: at approximately 9:40 a.m. at the snowboard flag to the right of the entrance to the Kinderland.
-
Where can I get my course tickets when booking online?
Pick up your course tickets at the office at the middle station before the course starts. Please have your booking ID ready.
Tickets for children's courses must be picked up between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at the latest.
-
How are participants divided into ability groups?
Both children and adults are divided into groups by our trained area managers:
Beginners (who have never been on skis before) are automatically divided into various beginner groups.
If course participants can already brake independently and confidently, they are assessed by means of a short test run and assigned to the respective performance groups.
-
When and where is the lunch break?
Usually from 12 noon to 1 p.m. The ski instructor will tell you where you will be eating.
During the high season, the lunch break may be moved up or back by up to half an hour. This does not shorten the duration of the course.
-
My child is not yet 4 years old. Why can't they take part in the ski course?
Based on years of experience, group lessons are usually not effective at this age. You are welcome to book a Happy Hour private lesson for your child to try out, or even 2 hours of private lessons.
-
Why is the 2-hour children's course only available for 4-5-year-old beginners? My child is older and only wants to attend the 2-hour ski course in the morning.
The ski course is structured systematically over 4 hours each day. This allows children to learn very quickly and have lots of fun.
If your child only completes 2 hours, they will no longer fit in with the group the next day and would have to join a less advanced group.
-
What happens if the ski lift is closed due to weather conditions or avalanche warnings?
Group courses can be rescheduled for the following day.
Private lessons can also be rescheduled for the following day, if possible. Otherwise, a voucher will be issued.
-
Why can my child only take part in snowboarding lessons from the age of 8?
Children under the age of 8 are not yet physically developed enough for their muscles and joints to cope with the strain of snowboarding.
-
When is the final race for children?
The ski race takes place every week on Thursdays or Fridays.
The group instructor will let you know the exact day and start time.
-
My child will only be attending the course until the middle of the week. Can they still take part in the final race on Friday?
Yes, of course. You can book the race for €10, which includes a race photo and the award ceremony.
-
I don't ski myself. Do I have to accompany my child to the meeting point at the middle station, and if so, how?
All children must be accompanied and picked up. You can purchase a single ticket to the middle station and back. All information is available at Schlick 2000.
-
Can we book one ski instructor for the whole family?
In principle, this is possible, especially if the children are older and their skill levels are not too different. If you are all beginners and have a 4-year-old child, for example, we recommend that adults and children be taught separately. The teaching methods for beginners differ fundamentally between adults and children.
-
We are a group with different skill levels. Can we book a private instructor together?
The ski instructor always adapts to the weakest member of the group. Advanced skiers therefore learn less and benefit less.
